Thanks for participating in MFIS programs! Holding onto your private information is a serious responsibility, and we want you to know how we’re handling it.

We only collect the information you choose to give us, and we process it with your consent. We only require the minimum amount of personal information that is necessary to fulfill the purpose of your interaction with us. We don’t sell your personal information to third parties, and we only use it as this Privacy Statement describes. No matter where you are, where you live, or what your citizenship is, we provide the same standard of privacy protection to all our users around the world, regardless of their country of origin or location.

The amount and type of information that MFIS gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask students who participate in our programs to provide their phone number and email address. Volunteers are required to complete a Volunteer Application Form which includes information used in a background check conducted by MFIS prior to interaction with students. Those who engage in financial transactions with MFIS are asked to provide the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. Visitors to our website can always refuse to supply personal information, however it may prevent them from engaging in certain MFIS activities.

MFIS discloses personal information only to its Board members, program leaders and paired participants in certain programs, as needed to administer those programs. If you are an MFIS volunteer and have supplied your email address, MFIS may occasionally send you an email to tell you about upcoming volunteer opportunities, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with MFIS.

Photographs taken at MFIS events may be posted on our website or in other communications. No personal identifying information will be shown unless you have provided your consent to us.

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
