Global Friends

Who wouldn’t love to have an international friend? Someone to call for a cup of coffee, a stroll by the lake, a visit to a Madison landmark or simply to chat about one another’s country? Our Global Friends program offers that very opportunity! It pairs a local resident with an international student or scholar. The interaction is informal and guided by the participants. For some volunteers and students, lifelong friendships have started this way! Let our Global Friends Coordinator find you a match.

Status

Global Friends is an active program during UW’s fall and spring semesters.  While registration is always open, student requests received after March 31st will be reviewed after August 31st with matching to begin at the beginning of the fall semester.  Both Students/Scholars and Volunteers may register.
